Mac OS 9? Is all hope lost?

Allright! I'm ready to throw this beautiful blue iMac...that I loved recently...out of the picture window...It seems I can't get anything for it....no new web browsers, or file-sharing programs especially.....They only want to work on Mac X and up? As much as I want a new computer, I can't afford it at the moment, and want to make the best of what I have....Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/links??? They would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi, I'm new to this forum and would like to ask "all hope is lost" if you are still running OX9 like me or did you loanload OSX. I am looking to upgrade as well since nothing seems to work with OS9. Is there a free download of OSX anywhere? Thanks from oldmacman.
