Vector Graphic was formed in 1976 by two house wives,  Lore Harp and Carole  Ely. Bob Harp, Lore’s husband was making pcbs (8K ram boards) in their garage and trying to sell these boards to micro-computer manufacturers. The wives decided to make their own company and so VG was born and it grew to have a multimillion dollar turnover (From  $400K in 1977 to $6,000,000 in 1979).

Bob Harp left his job with Hughes Research Labs in Malibu  in 1977 to become vice president of  R & D and was made an equal shareholder with Lore and Carole. The company had about 140 people in its heyday with about one third of them in R & D.  In 1981 their systems could transfer word processing files via phone lines and one could actually run diagnostics on a remote machine.  In 1982 Lore Harp  remarried and became chairman and turned the CEO position over to Fred Snow. In 1983 Lore Harp  became  the CEO again.  1984 saw a board room battle about the future direction of VG after which Lore Harp left the company  and from then on the company went slowly down hill  until 1986/87. The company was situated in Westlake Village, California. USA
